    Padre,
The christmas card reached us during Ministry of the Word's christmas party last Sat Dec 17. Thank you very much for remembering us. You are also very much in our thoughts. Salamat na lang sa mga naiwan mong musika, you are almost just around whenever we hear them playing.
    FOR MY REFLECTIONS:
The picture of the Holy Family in the Belen brings me a lot of lessons but I would like to focus on the realization that God's ultimate purpose for my life on earth is not comfort but strength of character.
I cannot imagine how cold it was when Mary & Joseph was looking for a place to rest. For a pregnant woman, the most comfortable thing to do is to sleep (kaya nga ako lumobo when I was pregnant). Then the baby was born in a manger, walang comforter or warmer, kaya nga wala akong karapatan magcomplain when it is too cold to wake up in the morning. The more that I do not have the right to complain when it was too hot during summer because it was also hot when Jesus was carrying the cross to save me from my sins.
Di ba Padre, accepting little discomforts for the love of God is one way of building our character? We need strength of character because we need to be saints.Mary was so strong to fulfill her vocation as the Mother of the savior.
    Until next time. Merry Christmas!
    Love,
    V.J. Andanar
