Planning is an important, almost an automatic component of everyone. In business, we plan. In raising a family or building a house, we plan. In wanting to get rich, we plan. Then how about a plan of salvation?
The Lord in today's gospel warns about people who cry out "Lord, Lord!" without having done God's will throughout their lives. The parable of the houses built on rock and sand also underscores the need for spiritual planning.
God has a plan of salvation for mankind, a plan for an abundant life in this world leading towards heaven. But as we see the signs of hunger, poverty, and sin around us, we realize that we are not in-synch with God's plan. If we only do what is right and heed to doing God's plan, we should have seen signs of life unfold.
