Cycle B

Gospel: Lk. 1: 26-38
"You are to conceive and bear a son, and you must name him Jesus. He will be great and will be called Son of the Most High."

Reflection:
If we really know who is to come, someone higher than our worries and preoccupations this Christmas, someone who will change our lives forever, someone who can change the course of our country's history, the time that we spend in going to malls and buying gifts should change into something much more intense, more lasting, more for our children and the future. Christ is the gift!

    Dear father Lito,
Thank you for posting this reflection.Christmas to me is not much on gift giving as this represent more commercialized values. It represent soul searching and reflection on what matters most in life.Christmas is about Christ"the Savior" born to redeem us of our sins.Sharing with the least of our brethren doesn't only mean giving gifts to the poor as feeding the hungry and the homeless but likewise giving some inspiration and enlightenment to people who are down, giving happiness to people who are lonely and making people loved and appreciated. These are some of the things we could do in our own special ways that could also make a difference in the lives of others.People have different ways of sharing and we cannot undermine the importance of sharing our blessings with the poor. But it is something that need to come from the heart and not just to show off to the world that I could give this much bec. I have this much.Thank you Father for this message.I will certainly reflect on it and pray.God bless!DEAH

True enough SOMEONE greater is coming! SOMEONE who is over and above all things, over and above my pride most especially. He is someone who has and is still changing my life, so that I may become like Him . Christ is the gift of the Father to us and as His birthday approaches, I think about what gift to give to the great birthday celebrant... what comes to me is to give myself to Him, especially my weakness and sins for these are all that I possess. Other things that I have are not mine but His, I am ONLY His steward.

As I prepare gifts for my loved ones, my prayer is: May each gift be my gift to you , dear Jesus , and may it bring YOUR LOVE to the person who receives it.....
