Being alone is the loneliest existence in this world. We are a people with a great need to belong with others. That’s why the family is the most potent means of belongingness. We also need friends to stand by us in joy and sorrow. As the Scripture says, He who finds a friend finds a treasure. Let us be consoled that from the beginning of time, this God wishes to be friends with his creation, man and woman, and that they share in his kingdom. Though sin separated us from God, Jesus linked it back again by becoming the perfect sacrifice of man to God. We are united with God once more in the bond of love.
